Ear Impression and Customizations

Instructions for a correct ear impression:

The ear impression must be made using the best materials to prevent any reduction or deformation of the molded shape over time. Taking an ear impression is a very simple procedure that takes only a few minutes and is completely painless. This process must be performed by an experienced hearing care professional. Impressions should not be taken in the presence of ear infections or earwax buildup. The ear canal must be sufficiently clean to ensure an accurate mold.

In the cities of Rome, Milan, and Bologna, it is possible to have the impression taken at one of our partner centers.

Within Italy, the ear impression must be taken at a hearing care center, providing the following instructions:

The impression must extend up to the beginning of the second bend of the ear canal.

During the impression procedure, it is preferable to keep the mouth closed and still to avoid altering the mold of the ear canal.

The mold must include the entire concha of the ear, particularly the upper part of the concha, as shown in the following photo.

It is advisable to have a specialist medical examination by an ENT doctor to ensure there are no ear diseases or earwax and to approve the use of a hearing device.
